Grantmaking: WDN funded 142 organizations and projects through its grantmaking program in 2024. The organization's grantmaking included funding through several initiatives called impact collectives, which are designed to enable the organization's donors to learn and fund collaboratively in several overarching strategic areas, including a safe and sustainable future, participation and representation, and opportunity and equality. WDN also continued grantmaking through the abc fund, which seeks to advance reproductive justice and ensure enduring legal access to abortion care in the us. Finally, the organization made rapid response grants to provide aid to communities facing urgent needs.

Educational programs: WDN offered educational programs in person and online in 2024, including a learning series that explored the relationship between philanthropy, democracy, and capitalism; educational webinars on timely topics related to WDN's grantmaking strategies; study groups in several issue areas; and regional meetings where donors gathered for learning and networking opportunities. WDN held its annual conference, "WDN connect: 2024," in denver, colorado, with 140 attendees who gathered to hear from visionary movement leaders, learn from each other, and build community.

Reflective democracy campaign: the campaign continued to work toward a democracy where all of us are reflected in the halls of power, by investigating and illuminating the demographics of elected officials and candidates in the united states and making this data available to the public through its website and reports. During 2024, the campaign made $243,675 in grants to 2 organizations that are conducting demographic research and working to preserve democratic institutions and democracy.
